Though we do as we wish
We are no school of fish
We wouldn't be led as shoals
Surveys and opinion polls
May God save all our souls
Assume a herd instinct
When we are all distinct.

Gridlock

Letting the market decide
Is wanting a free ride
That creates traffic snarls
Bordering on brawls
When everyone rebels
And stops for no one else
They block each others way
In permanent delay
The spree it seems to me
When everyone goes whee
Is a scream you want to dream
A mirage at large at best
That you can’t put to rest
When cops don’t regulate
The river goes in spate
The lights they make you late
But arrest the incident rate
For all it needs for flow
Is to go a little slow
Stop, look and then go
